To me, health is the absence of disease and only occasionally becoming susceptible to commonly spread illnesses. Health is confidence in my body that it can heal itself, given the right tools. Health is freedom to live my life on my terms, without fear. Health is energy, vitality and happiness.
Allopathic medicine dominates the health care system here in the US. While it is simply MIRACULOUS when it comes to things like severe trauma (think car accident), organ transplants and pre-natal care to name a few, it is absolutely ABOMINABLE when it comes to the ever-increasing diseases responsible for most deaths like heart disease, cancer, respiratory diseases, stroke, dementia diseases, diabetes, and even influenza & other viral (wink wink) infections.
We’ve been trained and conditioned by advertisers our parents & our leaders to look to allopathic medicine for health, but its failing us and this is why.
Health is very individual. Each and every body is different. Every body needs a different set of nutritients, exercise type, sleep duration and stress management techniques. Factors such as ethnicity, ancestry, birth order, environment, likes and dislikes & access all play a role in individual health.
There is no magic pill, nutrient, exercise, surgery or other hack that will miraculously or solely make you healthy. It’s impossible to live off of processed foods and maintain optimal health. It’s impossible to live a sedentary life and maintain optimal health, even if one exercises. It’s impossible to scrimp on sleep and to poo poo stress management techniques and maintain optimal health. The more one delves into pharmaceuticals and surgeries, the sicker and less mobile a person becomes. I have watched it with my own eyes, time and time and time again…
That is why I created The Foundations of Optimal Health. To empower people with the knowledge of what a healthy lifestyle looks like, what a body truly needs in order to maintain a disease and illness free life and how to tailor one’s lifestyle to achieve lasting health, vitality and happiness.
